This spring, Catalpa Charters is proud to launch Rockingham, WA’s only accredited whale watching charter boat tour—a brand new 3-hour adventure where history and whale song meet.
Aboard Venture 111, we’ll cruise beyond the islands and towards the whale highway, where the Indian Ocean hosts the breathtaking humpback migration on their journey south to Antarctica. Expect unrestricted views, luxury and sheltered seating, and a friendly, knowledgeable crew sharing fun facts and local stories as you search for the giants of the deep.
We also honour the powerful legacy of the Catalpa—a whaling ship once sent here both to hunt whales and to rescue men. Today, Catalpa Charters carries that history forward with pride and conservation at heart, capturing memories and creating our own epic tales—protecting these magnificent ocean travellers along the way.

Important Information for Passengers
Boarding:
Access is via The Cruising Yacht Club, Rockingham jetty, with a 5-step gangway. Please note, this may limit accessibility for some passengers.
Seating:
Our vessel features three tables seating six guests each and one table for two, all with cooler tables for easy access to ice and drinks.
Weather Policy:
Charters run daily unless weather conditions make travel unsafe. In such cases, guests will be contacted to arrange a rebooking.
